SXSW is one of our favorite events of the year. Do we love the concerts and good food? Sure, who doesn’t love a good breakfast taco? But what we really look forward to are the important discussions and serendipitous moments that wouldn’t exist without the convention. It’s why SXSW exists in the first place and why we chose it to kick off the launch our second product, Loom and Leaf, in 2015. Originally announced in 1986 as a platform to discuss the future of entertainment and media, SXSW has transformed into one of the most popular entertainment festivals in the world.
“The event has changed in many surprising and meaningful ways since 1987, but at its core, SXSW remains a tool for creative people to develop their careers by bringing together people from around the globe to meet, learn and share ideas.” Roland Swenson, SXSW Managing Director
To keep the spirit alive, SXSW lets you, the ticket holder and audience member, decide what you want to hear and learn about. That’s why we need you.

Skip the VC’s; Your Money, Your Way
Much of today’s tech news revolves around massive funding rounds and the omnipresence of venture capital giants. The hype around raising money and enticing celebrity investors is intoxicating; overnight multi-million dollar deals are the stuff of today’s legends. In this age of sky-high valuations that turn into lackluster IPOs, hype isn’t always synonymous with health. This panel’s self-funded founders of Saatva and AppSumo will describe their entrepreneurial sojourn: how they built highly successful brands on the self-funded model.
