It’s almost Valentine’s Day and if you’re like most Americans, you are going to be spending the day with your loved one.
For this upcoming holiday, the National Retail Federation’s Valentine’s Day Consumer Spending Survey expects American consumers to spend about $18.9 billion this year.
If you want to share the day with your partner but don’t want to have to deal with restaurants, over-priced roses or crowded places, spend the day at home.
You can spruce up your bedroom this year with some of these design and decor ideas without overspending.
Valentine’s Day Bedroom Decor Ideas
Light up the Room with Candles: If you have dimming lights to create a romantic mood that’s great but candles can create an even nicer effect. It’s really up to you where to place the candles but if you have a fireplace, you could dress up the mantel with your very own DIY candles.
Add Some Scents of Love: Using candles in the bedroom is great because they can also fill the room with pleasing scents. Be careful what candles you use though because you don’t want the scent to be too overwhelming. Go for a scent that invokes memories, you could spray the room with your favorite perfume to set the mood.
Play Some Tunes: You can set the mood more by adding some music to the overall setting. Pick out a few songs that bring back memories for both you and your partner. Maybe the first song you danced to or a romantic song that reminds you of his or her favorite qualities.
Add Some Pops of Red: The color red is often associated with passion, desire and love. You can add accents of red in your bedroom with throw pillows, bedding, and or drapes.
Show-off Some Crafts: Show that you care by making your own Valentine’s Day crafts. You could make some tasty desserts, floating heart backdrop or even make a mixed playlist.
